Hesed is a Hebrew word that describes God’s deep, loyal, covenant love. It's a love that protects, defends, and never lets you go. It’s God way of saying, “I’m with you, I’m for you, and I won’t break My promise to you.” Picture a mother elephant shielding her baby: both tender and fiercely protective.

There are times in life when faith feels thin, prayers feel weak, or the enemy tries to convince us that God’s promises don’t apply. But covenant doesn’t rely on our emotional strength, it relies on God’s faithfulness. Even in the darkest moments, simply declaring, “God, You are a covenant-keeping God.” is enough. Trusting that He truly keeps His word is Hesed.

So how do we live knowing God’s hesed surrounds us? We remind ourselves of His goodness. We remember past victories, big and smal, and say, “Thank You, Lord ! Your hesed endures forever!” We take communion as a reminder of the covenant we’re part of. And as we do, something shifts: we stop seeing God as distant and start experiencing Him as deeply near, fiercely loving, faithfully present, and unwavering in His commitment to us.
